Ya da benim basit ve örneklendirilmiş açıklamam da size bir fikir verebilir.

Örneğin: Diyelim ki benim bir dergim var ve bu ayki sayıda pazartesi sendromuyla ilgili bir makale yayınlamak istiyorum. Elbette konuyla ilişkili bazı görsel materyallere ihtiyacım olacak. Masa başında uyuklayan bir çalışan, elinde dosyalar tutan ; mutsuz suratlı genç bir kadın , v.s.

Or you can have an idea with my simple explanation and example.

For example: Let's think that i am an editor of a magazine and i want to publish an article about the 'monday syndrome'  on this month's magazine. For sure i would need some visiol material such as photos: A sleeping employee on the office desk or a young woman , carrying some heavy folders , with an unhappy face, e.t.c. 

Bu görsel materyale nasıl ulaşabilirim? 

1- Bir fotoğrafçıyla çalışırım. Model için, fotoğrafçı için, stüdyo için ve gereken her şey için para öderim. Ve epeyce zaman harcamış olurum.

2- Güvenilir stock photo sitelerinden birini tıklar; aradığım konuyla ilgili binlerce fotoğraf arasından en beğendiğimi seçer , düşük bir meblaya, istediğim ölçülerde bu fotoğrafa ve kullanım haklarına sahip olurum.

Where can I find these visial materials?

1- I would work with a photographer. In that way i would have to pay for the photographer, the model, the studio and for everything else and loose all this time.

2- I would visit one of that reliable stock photo sites, pick up the best photo i like(  in any size ) -related to the subject ,between thousand of options. In that way i could have the publishing rights of the photo i choose.

İşte stock photo dediğimiz şeyin mantığı budur. Tabii ki stock photo çekmenin de pek çok kuralı ve kendine göre pek çok zorluğu olduğunu kabul etmek gerek.

So this is what stock photo is. Of course i have to admit that shooting stock photo is not easy and it has its own rules.

Stock photo çekimlerini sadece bir obje veya objelerle yapabileceğiniz gibi,  model kullanarak da yapabilirsiniz. Burada önemli olan modelinizin , fotoğraflarının kullanım haklarını size vermiş olması!

You may do a stock photo session only with objects or you may work with a model as well. Here the important thing is that you have to have the 'model release' to use the photos.

Bizim bu haftaki modelimiz Türkiye ' de öğrenci olarak bulunan bir Rus idi. Çekime sabah saat 9:30 ' da başladık ve yaklaşık 4 saat aralıksız çekim yaptık.

Our model this week was a Russian studying in Turkey. We sarted the session at 09: 30 in the morning and worked for 4 hours without any break.

Çekimin bir bölümünü dışarıda doğal ışıkla gerçekleştirdik. Geri kalanını ise stüdyoda yapay ışık kullanarak yaptık.

For some particular shoots , we worked outdoors with the natural daylight and the rest of the sessıon; we shooted in the studio .

Sonunda oldu!

35 mm'lik filmin mucidi, Henri Cartier Bresson gibi sokak fotoğrafında ustalaşmış dünyaca ünlü fotoğrafçıların tercihi ve fotoğrafçılık dünyasının adeta Rolex'i diye adlandırabileceğimiz Leica; yine yapacağını yaptı...

Leica geçtiğimiz hafta sadece siyah-beyaz çekim yapan yeni 'range finder', 'full frame' dijital kamerasını piyasaya sürdü.

Finally it has arrived.

Leica, inventor of the 35mm film , which was (and still is) the camera of the most famous street photographers in the world, like Henri Cartier Bresson; Leica which is compared like the Rolex of photography, made it again…

Leica launched this week the new range finder camera, a Full frame which shoot only in black and white.

''Leica M-System 'in efsanevi kameralarıyla şu ana kadar sayısız siyah-beyaz fotoğraflar çekildi.

Bir yandan bu geleneği sürdürürken öte taraftan da artık eski monokrom fotoğrafın yerini dijitale bırakmasının zamanı gelmişti.İşte Leica M Monochrom! Bu kamera bazıları için 'bir hayalin gerçeğe dönüşmesi' olarak adlandırılabilir. Tabii aynı zamanda bazıları içinse son derece 'gereksiz' bir buluş olabilir.Ama gerçek şu ki; Leica'nın bu yeni kamerası diğer üreticilerin de oturup düşünmesi gereken bir atılım.Tek problem ise ; bu muhteşem makinanın fiyatı: Sadece 'body' nin maliyeti 8000$. Eğer önceden elinizde , halihazırda Leica' nın ürettiği M serisi lenslerden varsa problem yok. Yok değilse, lensler içinde bir bu kadar daha harcamanız gerekeceğini aklınızda bulundurun. Ya da eğer, Leica' nın yeni lensi; 50 mm Summicron F2 APO' yu almak isterseniz, onun da fiyatı 7000$.

For some people it is a dream coming true, for someone is a 'no sense' , the fact is Leica made it and from now on other camera producers have to deal with it. There is only one problem: this dream cost and exactly cost $ 8.000 for body only. If you have other Leica M series the lenses are not a problem but if you need to buy them too prepare to spend the same amount of the body for a decent kit of prime lenses or Leica also announced a new lens, that is the 50mm Summicron F2 APO at a price of $7'000.

Nasıl Çalışır?

How does it work?

Leica sıfırdan , yepyeni bir sensör üretmiş: 18 MP. Bu sensör sadece 'gri ölçeğini' kaydediyor.Görüntüler , Adobe' nin Open Digital Negative (DNG) formatını kullanarak , RAW olarak çekilebiliyor. Ya da isterseniz JPEG çekmek de mümkün. ISO mesafesiyse M9'dan iki kat iyi. Bunu yapmak için sensörden renk filtresini çıkartmışlar.Böylece sensöre iki misli ışık çarpıyor bu da daha iyi görüntü kalitesi ve ISO performansı  demek.Yeni Leica M Monochrom' un sensörü yeni tasarlanmış 18 megapixel OCD sensör ki bu da geleneksel Bayer Pattern filtreden farklı. Leica ; 'Bu demek oluyor ki; bu yeni sensör ışığı asla renklere ayırmıyor ve böylece de karmaşık renk algoritmalarına gerek duyulmuyor.' diyor.

Leica made from scratch a new full frame digital sensor, 18 MP, which “record” only gray scale. Images can be shot in a RAW mode, taking advantage of Adobe’s open Digital Negative (DNG) format, as well as offering JPEG. The ISO capability of the new Leica M-Monochrom camera is about two stops better than the Leica M9. They do this is by taking out the color filter of the sensor, allowing twice the amount of light to hit the sensor – allowing for better image quality and high-ISO performance. The new Leica M Monochrom uses a newly-designed 18-megapixel CCD sensor, which has been stripped of the conventional Bayer Pattern filter. "This means that the sensor never separates the light into colors, and subsequently there is no need for complicated color algorithms," says Leica.

Leica' nın açıklamasına göre; kamera renkleri 'görmediği' için, her pixel gerçek parlaklık değerinde kaydediliyor ve böylece normal bir renge duyarlı sensöre kıyasla çok daha 'gerçek' ve keskin siyah- beyaz görüntüler elde ediliyor.

Kameranın duyarlık mesafesi 320 ISO'dan 10,000 ISO2ya kadar.

As the camera does not "see" colors, says Leica, "every pixel records true luminance values to deliver ‘true' black-and-white images that are significantly sharper than comparable exposures from a camera with a colour-sensitive sensor."

The camera has a sensitivity range of ISO 320 to ISO 10,000, and features a new raw data histogram display that offers "original, unprocessed and unmodified raw data allowing for precise correction or optimization of exposures."

PORTRE ÇEKİMİ: CÜNEYT METE

Geçtiğimiz haftalarda stüdyoda yine bir 'portre' çekimi vardı. Bu seferki konuğumuz; çoğunuzun Unutma Beni dizisindeki Kenan karakteriyle tanıdığı Devlet Tiyatroları' nın yetenekli ve karizmatik oyuncularından Cüneyt Mete idi.

2 weeks ago we made another 'portrait shooting sesssion' at the studio.This time our model was a talented and a charismatic actor of State Theatres ; Cüneyt Mete, who is also known as Kenan, for his part in the  soap opera Unutma Beni. 

Çekim saatimizi kendisinin yoğun programına uygun bir biçimde akşama aldık. Yorgun olmasına  rağmen, Cüneyt Mete ile çok rahat ve eğlenceli çalıştık. Zaten aktörlerle çalışmak her zaman için çok keyifli.

Because of his crowded timetable , we had to make the shooting in the evening. He was tired after a hard shooting day but anyway working with Cüneyt Mete was joyful and easy. Working with actors is always fun for me. 

Cüneyt'in ihtiyacı tamamen doğal, manipüle edilmemiş, photoshopla 'sündürülmemiş' fotoğraflardı.Biz de bunu yaptık. Doğru ışık ve doğru seti kurmak altın anahtardır. Bir fotoğrafçı aşağıda(stüdyoda) ne kadar doğru bir ışık ve set hazırlarsa, yukarda (bilgisayar başında) da photoshop işiyle o kadar az zaman geçirir. Yine de biraz eğlenmenin kimseye zararı olmayacağını düşünüp, bir iki fotoğrafa biraz 'dokundum'. :)

Cüneyt needed some very natural portrait photos (not manipulated). And we simply gave what he needed. Here the golden key is to prepare the correct lights and the set. The photographer who makes the right set and lights down, in the studio; after needs to spends less time up, infront of the pc for photoshop. Anyway a little fun does not do any harm to anyone. So i 'retouched' some of the photos. :)

Tam olarak çözebilmiş değilim ama stüdyoya gelen herkes  bizim makyaj masasının ışıklarına ve orda fotoğraf çektirmeye bayılıyor.Bu kural Cüneyt Mete için de geçerli oldu. :)

I couldn't quite understand but everyone who comes to studio falls in love with the lights of the make up table and wants me to shoot there. This rule didn't change with Cüneyt Mete either. :)
